Freediving with the Fastest Shark in the World

This week Hanli Prinsloo is embarking on one of the biggest diving adventures you can have in Cape Town. They are heading out to 'the Canyon' three hours south of Cape Point to an area where two large currents meet and life blossoms. When the ocean is rich with life it means the sharks aren't far away and today they are looking for mako sharks and blue sharks. Makos are like tiny great whites, but blue sharks are the cutest, cuddliest members of the shark family. That's right, Hanli is going to go frolic with some adorable predators. Freediving with the Fastest Shark in the World.

Freediving (or free-diving) is a form of underwater diving that does not involve the use of scuba gear or other external breathing devices, but rather relies on a diver's ability to hold his or her breath until resurfacing.
